Simple Delivery postage label “you cannot cancel this label”

Hi Anyone who can help please

simple delivery ~ I’ve followed all the instructions EBay give on how to cancel a Simple delivery label. When I do this via My EBay “Actions” or “Manage Postal Labels” and select “Cancel label” ℹ️ appears and message “you cannot cancel this label”

no idea why you cannot cancel a label if you are not going to use it. It states you must do within 14 days so label was created today and I don’t seem to be able to cancel it today?
thanks in advance

The buyer has paid for the label so you don't need to cancel it.   It will automatically be refunded to them in 30 days.

It's only if you select ' Seller pays' for the postage,  and the label is not used,  then you do need to manually cancel the label for your refund, and to do so within 14 days.

Otherwise,  as said,  it's the buyer who pays,  and they need to wait 30 days for a refund if the SD label is not used,  might be worth sending them a message explaining this.

Simple Delivery postage label “you cannot cancel this label”

Hi Thank you very much for the reply. I had paid the Postage on this item myself, it was actually not needed as there was a Multi-buy from one Buyer so both items went into the other label that was created. I’m now in a position not being paid for the item as the tracking won’t show it as “delivered” ans the label won’t be posted and the postage I’m out too as I paid for the label.
am I right the postage will come back to me in 30 days as the label is unused?
it’s very complicated now as I am unsure what I can do also to prove the item was in the the other delivery label (now delivered)  so I can get paid on that item too. Thank you for any help you can further offer.

It would be useful if you stated which item the label was for.

The only recent sale you have with 'seller pays postage/free delivery' was the harem pants.

For all of your other items, you charged postage which the buyer paid direct to Ebay.

So, if the buyer paid then they will be refunded by Ebay if the SD label was not used.

If it was the harem pants, and you paid for the label, then you need to complete the refund form within 14 days of the sale.

See the instructions here:

If you selected ‘Seller pays’ and offered free postage on your listing, you'll need to fill out the Request a refund for Simple Delivery form for the label that wasn’t used. Make sure to send your request within 14 days of your item selling

The tracking won't show the item as delivered if it was the second item in the parcel, so you will be paid 14 days after the transaction.
