'Simple Delivery' - Responsibility for loss/damage - Proper clarification needed from Ebay....

This so-called 'Simple Delivery' is going to be a complete nightmare for buyers and sellers. Higher value items which would normally have to be sent by Royal Mail 'Special Delivery' doesn't seem to be included in this badly thought-out scheme, or for that matter the 'Age-verification' services. If an item valued at say £500-£750 is sent using this new posting method, what is the limit for compensation?? According to Ebay in their information, sellers will be "fully protected" using this service. So if an item valued at the above price goes 'missing' or gets damaged in transit does Ebay cover the cost of refunding the buyer the amount paid or the seller?? If it's the seller, then will the seller then be able to claim from Ebay the said cost back?? (As you would expect to do through sending the item through Royal Mail direct). This I believe needs FULL clarification from Ebay as to what they imply by the seller is "Fully protected", because I can see only problems ahead if they fail to do so.....
