Great in theory but not in practice as the automatic postage chosen is always the cheapest option and non customisable as well as non refundable.
Today I had to purchase alternative postage because 'bring my label' was not an option with home collection with Royal Mail but in Ebay help section on Simple Delivery they claim no printer is needed and 'bring my label' is a choice. Actually 'bring my label' is available when postage is purchased directly from them on pricier postage options. Ebay used tracked standard 3-7 days and deducted £10.80 but when I tried to book a home collection the prompt stated own label required. Consequently I was forced to purchase directly from Royal Mail and for £14.10 I got 24 hour tracked with signature and home collection with 'bring my label'.
I have no printer or ability to transport a 20KG parcel to a parcelshop.
There is also no way to opt out of Simple Delivery as it will eventually be the only option for most categories for private sellers.
There is also no way to complain to Ebay about this serious flaw.
Ebay should allow for more flexibility in the Simple Delivery system whereby sellers can upgrade the postage purchased by Ebay if features like 'Signature' and 'bring my label' are an essential need instead of forcing sellers to pay for postage twice.
