Simple Delivery - Beware if the buyer enters a malformatted address - prepare to suffer

Anyone else getting this problem? If you are forced to use so-called "simple" delivery and the buyer's address is entered by the buyer in a malformatted manner (e.g. postcode entered with "0" instead of "O" or similar), then even if the address would still work, simple delivery will throw an error message when you try to get the label and it's impossible to proceed. Instead, you have to speak to ebay customer support, who may eventually send you a new label (if you're lucky). If you DO use the new label, sending it won't mark the item as "dispatched", so you'll get constant reminders to post the item and the buyer won't get any tracking info. All very tedious. I suspect this is happening a lot as they did seem to know what to do after I finally got through (after 5 tries...) to someone who was awake. Any idea how to solve the problem of the item not being marked as dispatched? Thanks!

eBay say:

If the buyer's name or the first or second line of the buyer's address is incorrect, you can edit this information before you print your label.

If the buyer entered the wrong town or postcode, you can cancel the transaction and ask the buyer to repurchase the item with the correct address.
