Selling from China with existing account now blocked without Chinese ID.

I have been living in Shanghai for a long time and have sold from here in the past, but not recently.

I updated my address and created a listing. Ebay said nearly there just a few things to add then diverted me to the Hongkong site with a Chinese form to fill in.  It said it was for Chinese people only and wanted a Chinese ID.  Have things changed now or did I miss doing something ?

If you first registered on ebay uk then you would need to register a new account where you now live.  This a rule from several years ago now.

It seems the Chinese government have specific rules for users of China ebay which you can't meet, so can't use it.

I originally created an account on England, but due to a lot of security
issues I closed it and opened my current account in Hong Kong.
I sold many items through that. But have not recently. I guess the rules
have changed since then.
