Selling and Postage

Hi,

I am new to selling and sold my first item last week. I didn't realise about linking the postage to Ebay, and am still unsure about it, but I posted the parcel to the address from a local post office and received a tracking number. Will this affect future sales?

Re: Selling and Postage

As a Private seller Simple Delivery is mandatory,  dispatch and tracking is immediately added when purchasing an SD postage label.

There are benefits, eBay will also handle and pay any refund for item lost in the post or received damaged in transit.  This link explains SD.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/sellercentre/postage/simple-delivery?mkevt=1&mkpid=2&emsid=0&mkcid=8&bu=43952...

If you wish to update your tracking:

  • Go to "Orders Paid & Dispatched"
  • Click on "View order details"
  • Within the "Postage" section there's a small dropdown arrow next to "Track Package" - click on that.
  • Click on the "Add tracking" option
  • A box will come up with the current tracking number . Delete that and replace it with your tracking.

Re: Selling and Postage

Hi, thank you for your reply. I added in the tracking number but it is still saying dispatch overdue and on the same drop down menu I did try to click on Mark as dispatched but it won’t go through. Using my tracking number it says that the item has already been delivered to the buyer.
How do I resolve this as it doesn’t look good that I seem to have not dispatched my first sold item!

Re: Selling and Postage

To mark item as dispatched you have to generate the original postage label.   It will still be unused and afterwards, assuming buyer paid the postage, the cost will be refunded to them automatically in 30 days.
