Sellers not allowing offers or bids

I seem to have several sellers now stating “ This seller is not accepting offers or bids from you” for no reason at all,the last because I said I couldn’t really afford it but Thankyou ..politely !

why is this happening,especially with sellers I have never bought from before !

when I contact and ask them why they never answer.

If sellers add you to their blocked bidders list, then they can also choose not to receive messages from you so they probably don't receive your messages.

If you have 2 or more unpaid item strikes in the last year, they many sellers would automatically block you.

Otherwise, if you have no unpaid item strikes, and the blocks are from sellers you have not dealt with, sellers may not like the fact that you have 3 bid retractions in the last year - most members have 0.

However, this is all speculation.

If a seller won't deal with you, it is their choice.  All you can do is find a different seller.

Thankyou for that, but how can you see if I’ve retracted bids and how many times ?!

I usually do that if the description changes in some way or I later see the listing has an error, eg listing yarn as DK when it is 4 ply, which is not my fault and sellers normally thank me for pointing out these errors.

You can see how many bid retractions anybody has made by looking at their feedback received as a buyer.
