Seller not responding and Ebay no help whatsoever

I recently purchased an item on eBay that was collection only. I paid for the item and then tried to arrange collection. The seller kept sending messages to call him to arrange pickup.  I am aware that I should do things via eBay so they have a track of conversations between me and the seller.

The first time I asked to collect the item the seller said he was on holiday, the second time I messaged and also called to confirm I would be at his site. Seller stated he would be around and not more than 20 minutes (collecting spares) away.

On arrival at the location I texted him to say I was at his location and received a reply that he was at hospital for a pre arranged appointment, he would then be collecting tablets, after which he would then be on a job and would not be back at his unit for 4 hours.

My journey to his location had already taken 3 hours, to be told I would have to wait another 4 hours followed by a further 3 hour journey home was not acceptable to me and I asked him for my money back. After this I have heard nothing from him, there is no refund and eBay are absolutely useless at helping me.

I never got the chance to see the item let alone pick it up so want my money back. Is this too much to ask E bay for.

Are you within 30 days of purchase?

As long as you have not given the seller the collection code, which would suggest you had collected the item, you can open an 'item not received' case.

The seller then has 3 days to refund you . If they don't, you go back to the case and ask Ebay to step in.

You can leave negative feedback commenting on how unhelpful the seller was.
