Item delivered and buyer has reported damage. The item is no damaged beyond repair and cannot be resold. Sold for £260
Buyer purchased the Evri postage through ebay. I have raised a claim for the damage however I noted the compensation was only £25 is this correct?
Can anyone advise on help. Ive read posts that advise as a seller I have to refund the buyer as its obviously not their fault the item has arrived damaged but its also not my fault as a seller. I have images to show how much protective wrapping was used

If the buyer has started a claim, then you do have to refund them.
Unfortunately, this was not sent using Ebay Simple Delivery so you set the cost and the courier.
I don't think Evri offer any compensation for musical instruments.

It is up to sellers to know what cover if any they get with sold items when something goes wrong.
If a buyer is offered a delivery service or choice of delivery service they will usually go for the cheapest, which is why whatever service you offer should provide enough cover to protect you the seller, leaving buyer no choice but to meet your requirements.
You will need to refund in full, providing buyer with a return tracked label if you want item returned, and hope that you can get the £25 off Evri.

Are you sure?
Did eBay provide you with a Simple Delivery label?

Hi. It was a label sent by Ebay but for Evri

I'm a bit unclear about this.
If this was not sent using eBay's simple delivery, you would have bought the postage yourself. The buyer couldn't have purchased it through eBay.
Do you perhaps mean that the buyer selected Evri from the delivery services you offered? If so I'm afraid it's your responsibility only to offer insured services, if that's what you want.
