Received this email message this morning.
"Dear Customer,
I have reviewed your order and regret to inform you 😭 that our warehouse team has urgently notified us that all remaining stock of your purchased item has been damaged beyond sale. As the seller, I deeply regret this situation and had sincerely hoped you would receive and enjoy this product.
In light of this, we kindly request that you consider cancelling your order. Should you choose to do so, we will process your refund immediately. Would this arrangement be acceptable to you?"
Should I cancel my Purchase per Seller request? or Should the Seller cancel it because they now do not have any sellable items in stock?

Seller should cancel using reason out of stock, which then gives them a defect. Ebay does not like sellers who do not fulfil orders.
Asking you to cancel would just let them off the hook, in fact you cannot cancel, but have to ask ask seller to cancel then they can use reason “buyer’s request”, which does not damage their account.
If they do nothing then as soon as delivery date has passed open a Not Received case, to get refund.

buyers cannot cancel.
All the seller has to do is cancel the order themselves and you automatically get a refund.
