Seller Didn’t Cancel Order and Messages Blocked

Hi

i would welcome any help with my issue.

I created an order by mistake with Allyourmusic and sent a cancellation request immediately. 3 days later it was shipped and told my request was too late… I was exploring return options and was told I would have to pay shipping. As a result i cancelled the return process and hoped to speak to the seller to see if they would cover the return shipping. It now transpires that the seller blocks messages and I am completely stuck. eBay CS have been incredibly unhelpful with the last one basically telling me to go away with this comical response

“Thank you for getting in touch. I understand you're not happy with my colleague's previous response. I've carefully reviewed the details of your email but I can see my colleague has already addressed this concern for you” 😂

Surely the fact that the seller is blocking messages is enough for EBay to force some sort of resolution?

Any ideas?

Cheers

Seller Didn’t Cancel Order and Messages Blocked

Ebay gives sellers very few tools to assist them, blocking buyers from messaging (and buying) is one of them.  Why would ebay then intervene in something they themselves condone?

You wanted to do a change of mind return, buyers pay the return costs for those, but instead of going ahead and paying the return postage and returning for a refund, you cancelled the return which says to ebay that you no longer wish to return it.  As said already, you only get one chance at a return and then ebay isn't interested.  Obviously your seller isn't interested either now.

If your seller has a business account there should be other contact options on their current listings, as required by law.

Once ebay case is closed it can't be reopened or new one started.

So ebay CS were correct.

Thanks, but the issue isn’t so much that I can’t reinstate the return, although that is frankly ridiculous, it is that the seller blocks messages from buyers and offers no way to contact them. Surely EBay should be able to intercede in some way?

Ebayers can block any one they want, they don't have to have a valid reason.

Even if seller didn't block you, they can ignore you.

Thanks

I will try to find alternative contact details although fully expect to be ignored. I have several questions but, ultimately, they all boil down to them being a poor seller

1) Why wasn’t the order cancelled when cancellations are offered by seller? I made a genuine mistake and tried to cancel immediately

2) Why block messages if you are remotely interested in offering a good service?

Separately,

1) Why don’t eBay warn you that stopping a return request is not reversible?

Anyway, what is done is done but I will speak to EBay tomorrow before leaving negative feedback for the first time…
