Scammed and eBay won’t help

Purchased an item for £1128 on the 5th of February, at the time the seller provided a tracking number which was marked as delivered on the 8th of February in China (im U.K. based).

The seller then apologised and uploaded a new tracking number which didn’t update to delivered until the 18th March (it was not delivered).

After asking neighbours and trying to obtain a signature from the delivery company I soon realised it had not been delivered.

I contacted eBay and explained the situation and how the buyer had abused eBay’s terms and conditions to bypass the 30 day money back guarantee. I have only received copy and paste replies stating the 30 day period has passed even though ebay have confirmed the seller inputted a fake tracking number to take advantage of the system.

eBay are now stating that I should contact the seller, surprise surprise the account is suspended and gone. EBay have offered no help or advice and are basically refusing to refund or investigate this further.

what else can I do?

Did you fund the payment with a debit or credit. card?

If so, you can issue a not received chargeback.
