Hi

I've listed lots of items for auction. I expected it to last 7days but people are buying and paying for the items on the first day for the price I started at. Why is this happening? One guy messaged me with an offer which I refused so then went and paid for the amount he offered. 

I look forward to anyone's comments

That can only happen if you have Buy It Now on your listing as well as auction.    For the remaining ones you can revise and remove it.    You also have to unselect it via "See pricing options" on the right of the revising form otherwise it will keep defaulting back to BIN.

Check your listings for Best Offer being selected, and then if you've selected a minimum amount to be accepted, when it's offered the item sells,    this is what's happening.

To remove the Best Offer option, scroll down to the Pricing section.

Far right click on Pricing options and the two tiny circled lines drop down menu there,  and de select the Best Offer option.

Regards multiple items I will sell to one buyer is it easy to combine his
postage so not to pay for each item?

Your sold items were listed with 'best offer'.

So, as one example, I have looked at

Rare Harry Howell Warwickshire And England Autograph

This was listed as an auction item with a 7 day duration and a starting price of £35 or best offer.

The buyer offered £20 which was accepted.

I know it is time consuming, but you need to go through your listings and check if they are set up to accept a best offer and what the amount is.

If I use  'best offer' on auction items, I see it as a chance for a buyer to get the item without having to bid and wait and I usually set the 'best offer' price a little higher than the auction start price.

If buyer buys in one transaction you should automatically receive one postage label to combine and send them together.

If buyer buys separately you can still send them together and if  the buyer paid for the extra labels the cost will be refunded automatically to them in 30 days.     The payments for the untracked items will be released in 14 days. 

The alternative would be to cancel/refund the transactions with the buyer's agreement and relist with items on one listing and a single postage cost for the buyer to buy and pay again.

Thank you for your response. I obviously made a mistake when doing offers.
Regards Howell I sold the guy sent me an offer for £35 which I accepted. I
thought that was how it worked .

It does but you also have to make sure your listing isn't set up to auto accept offers.
