Royal Mail!

Hi, need some advice please.....

Sold an item, used simple post, scanned the QR code, Post Office printed the label and off it went into the bag. Tracking showed as delivered, got paid, all good! Then, this morning I have a very angry buyer demanding a refund because he got a painting set, not the heating part I sold him, the delivery address of the Item he received was in Cheshire, he is in Birmingham! Tracking number on my proof of postage doesn't match the tracking number on the parcel he received. How can this have happened? I've issued a refund to protect myself and it's not the buyers fault but how do I proceed from here? I'm out of pocket, the item is god knows where and to top it off the buyer had to pay an excess postage charge for a parcel that wasn't even his!! Anyone else had this experience recently? Thanks in advance. Dave

It sounds like the label came off and an RM worker put it back onto the wrong parcel.     I don't like leaving the PO to put the label on.    It's better to print it yourself and make sure all sides of the label are sellotaped onto the parcel.  Maybe glue it down first as well.
