Royal Mail vs Amazon Shipping

I bought something from a seller who stated, very clearly, they send their items via Royal Mail. This is perfect for me as it arrives by midday. However I then get an email saying Amazon Shipping is being used. A vile and useless, at least in my area, shipping company. They rarely deliver before 6 on the due date, often throwing things over fences or as happened with the last eBay purchase, left it in the street! I’ve contacted the seller to make my feelings known and asked they cancel the order. How can I escalate this up because to my mind this is false advertising, something that is illegal!

I wouldn't say it was illegal,  but certainly changing aspects of the transaction you agreed to is not ideal.

Have you messaged the seller to explain you require RM,  as this was the service shown on the listing, and this is the service you require ?

If they ignore your message,  you need to wait for the item to arrive, and if it arrives late or damaged by careless delivery, turn to eBay's MBG link below to explain the policy to receive a full refund.
