Royal Mail Lost Item Using Simple Delivery

I'd be grateful for some help as I'm finding it difficult to understand what I need to do.  I sold an item and used Ebay's Simple Delivery 48 hrs tracked via Royal Mail.  Tracking shows that the item was delivered but the buyer says that it hasn't been.  The buyer has raised this with Royal Mail but as the seller I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do or how I get my money back for the lost item - is it via Ebay or Royal Mail?  If anyone can explain how this works, I'd be very grateful.  FYI the buyer hasn't raised an Item not Received Request yet on Ebay as the item was only "delivered" today.  Thank you.

Under Simple Delivery the buyer opens a case for item not received and ebay handles the refund.

You don't need to do anything - you can't get your money back for an item that is showing as delivered.

48 hours after the tracking shows delivery, Ebay will release the payment from the buyer to you.

In the meantime, the buyer should open a case for 'item not received' - after they have checked around their property and asked the neighbours etc.

Do not make any promises to the buyer and don't refund them.

If there is evidence that the item was NOT delivered to the right address, Ebay will refund them.
