Revising start Date on a Listing

When revising a listing to reduce the price of an item, how do to amend the start date of the listing please?  EBay tell me the original start dat is invalid as it is in the past but I can see no option to change it.

To reschedule or cancel a scheduled listing:

1. Go to your scheduled items.
2. Choose the listing you want to change.
3. Select Reschedule to change the date and time, or Delete to cancel the listing.

Active listings cannot have the start date changed, you would need to end, and then relist, using scheduling if you wanted to start on a certain date/time.

I tried this suggestion but is not giving me an option to change the start date. All I want to do is reduce the price of the item.

If you've had previous offers you may not be able to change it now.    You'd have to take it off and relist with new price.
