I am in the process of returning some furniture,  I paid £100 for a courier to collect it,  can I claim any of this back, as it was wrongly advertised and damaged

If you sent your own courier to collect, then you are not covered by ebay MBG.

No, it's not possible to claim courier costs, this is a risk you take when sending a courier to collect and buying unseen.

The seller doesn't have to accept the return either, so if they have agreed to accept the furniture back and refund you'll at least get a full refund of the price you paid for it, which is best case scenario.
