Returning an item

I have purchased an item that was damaged (holes and catches). The seller seems to be based in the USA but the item was sent from the UK. It was not clear that the item was worn out but she insists that it is. She wants me to pay for return postage to the USA, when the item was sent from the UK , at my cost.

The item was in very poor condition.

If you open a "not as described" return ebay will supply the correct address to send the item back to.    If it's in the UK they will also supply a paid-for postage label for you to print and use.

Please see what @**peaseblossom** says.   If the seller IS in USA and wants it returned there the same conditions apply as for UK.

We had advice some while back about this from eBay.  The buyer opens a case for "not as described" and the seller may then say that she "cannot send a label."  That is her problem.  If the label is not supplied then after 3 full business days escalate the case to eBay.  They will usually refund and get the money from the seller.
