Return

I accepted a return and without thinking as I was upset that the item had an issue I refunded the buyer to try and be decent.  Now the buyer says they cannot return the item as the return is closed due to the fact I have refunded them. Now I have no item and no money.  Is this right?

Correct way is buyer opens ebay case, you issue returns label and only refund on return of item.

If you refund 1st, ebay assume you don't want item back, so case closes and label not available.

You need to work buyer, either send postage label or money to pay for it, can't be done through ebay.

As soon as you issue a refund, the return label will no longer be shown to the buyer and the case closes.

Of course the buyer can still send the item back.  Is it an item of clothing?

I would sent them a mailing bag with your name and address and sufficient stamps on to send the item back to you.

Obviously message them first and ask them nicely if they will send it back - they shouldn't expect to keep the money and the item.
