Why are you returning? Have you opened a return case?
Seller only has to pay for Not as described returns, change of mind, including Does not fit, buyer pays cost of postage.

Yes, the item I received does not match the description. I submitted a return request through eBay, which the seller accepted. However, I have not yet received a return shipping label. When I contacted the seller, as recommended by eBay, he asked for my contact information. eBay advises against this for security reasons. I informed the seller of this. He replied that he only has eBay's global shipping address.

If the seller is not in the UK they may not be able to supply a label. Otherwise escalate your case to ebay 3 working days after you started it. Go to the return case, click on Case Details > Respond to Case > Escalate This Case > Submit.

As you are in Germany, you need to log out of UK site & contact ebay CS from your own site.

Hello, a major problem seems to be that I placed the order as a guest. I have since converted my guest account to a regular account. Asking ebay to look into it has only been partially successfull so far. The app's help function informed me that ebay has requested the seller to provide a return shipping label. However, this didn't work when processing the return request. I'm afraid contacting ebay's German CS would only create complete chaos.

Guest purchase won't show on ebay account.

Thank you, that was one of the previous steps I've already completed. The email with the order information takes me to the eBay page where I requested the refund. I then received an email from eBay informing me that the seller had accepted the refund and that a return shipping label would be provided. A link in another email leads me to a page where I can view the return details. Among other things, I find the seller's UK postal address there, but not the return shipping label itself. I can only enter the tracking number. If I follow the link in my confirmation email to request help from eBay, I end up on an eBay page with an error message. The FAQ page suggested converting my guest account to a regular account, but that didn't help. The last I did was submit a help request through the eBay app's help function. There, they found the correct procedure, but again only contacted the seller, who had already told me that he needed my postal address because he only had the eBay global shipping address.

UK link for return of Guest purchases given here --- there should/may be a similar link in the German site ??.

Thank you for the information. I've since been in contact with an eBay employee. They said they would contact eBay UK. I'm currently waiting for a response from them.
