I am reaching out to highlight a serious and deeply concerning issue I’ve encountered with eBay’s “Simple Delivery” service, which has not only resulted in a financial loss but also the unjust restriction of my account without any transparency or due process.
Recently, I sold two items and used eBay’s Simple Delivery option to dispatch them. A few days after shipping, I was notified that the buyers had opened “Item Not Received” cases. Upon checking the tracking information, I found that both shipments had not been updated since the courier’s initial scan.
I immediately contacted eBay support, and multiple agents assured me that, according to eBay’s policy, I would not be held liable. They clearly stated that if an issue arises during transit using Simple Delivery, eBay would take responsibility.
However, just days later, my account was suddenly restricted. I was not contacted for any additional information — no requests for proof of delivery, proof of dispatch, or proof of authenticity were made. I was completely locked out of the ability to appeal these cases. I’ve now lost both the items and the funds, through no fault of my own.
What is especially frustrating is that I have been given inconsistent and misleading information by multiple eBay agents. Despite eBay’s written policies and the assurances I received, I am now being told there is nothing more eBay can do. This appears to be a clear breach of eBay’s own terms and policies regarding the use of Simple Delivery.
I find it unacceptable that sellers can be penalised for failures of eBay’s own integrated shipping service especially after being assured otherwise by your own representatives.
I am posting here publicly in the hopes that someone from eBay will take this matter seriously. The lack of accountability and consistency from eBay support is not only disappointing — it is damaging to honest sellers trying to use the platform in good faith.
If anyone has experienced a similar situation, please do not hesitate to reach out. I am committed to pursuing this matter to the fullest extent and intend to make it as public as possible in order to raise awareness and hold this company accountable for their deceptive practices.
