Refund a buyer

I posted an item on 9/4 by Royal mail tracked 24. But it doesn’t move until 14/4 so it seems to be lost. The buyer ask for a full refund on 14/4 and I process it. But I paid the seller protection fee and it’s not my problem. How can eBay refund a buyer money?

As long as buyer opened ebay case & you refund through it, then amount is automatic,

you will refund cost price & any postage buyer paid you, ebay refund the rest.
