Hello
I purchased a Canon camera from company Conbri34 Japan. Yesterday i received a Duty & Tax Invoice from Fedex for £64.00- nothing was mentioned that this would happen. I need to know that this is a genuine invoice before having to pay it as i have never had this experience before.
I purchased this on the 31st December 2024 and received it 9th January 2025.
I would be grateful for your assistance on this matter.
With kind regards

When you buy items from abroad UK VAT and import duties are payable - unless the seller has opted for eBay's global shipping programme, where these are included in the price you pay eBay.
From what you have told us there is no reason to suggest that your invoice from Fedex is not genuine.
Don't delay too long before paying. I don't know how long is allowed, but if an item has to be returned to the seller because the buyer did not pay any import charges it will be disqualified from eBay's money back guarantee - so probably no refund.
Addendum: Like so many buyers, you didn't scroll down to read the reminder that your seller gives in red on all their listings:

These are Import fees and an admin charge when buying from abroad, and it's down to a buyer to know about such additional costs. If you don't pay the cost will be referred to a debt collector

Sadly not all sellers use ebay global shipping programme which includes import duties for buyers, and don't always let byers know about extra charges when not using the GSP option.

Does the FedEx invoice include details of the item you've purchased?
If it does, and you've not yet paid any customs duty for this order, then it's not a scam.
You're right to be cautious though, there are lots of scams like this.

FedEx are only carrier who send invoice after delivery.
Other carriers want the import fees before delivery.

If you read the description on the listing for the camera you bought, it says:
