Reactivate my eBay account

Hello,

I just created this account and have not listed or purchased anything yet. However, I received a message saying that my account has been deactivated.

I'm not sure why this has happened, and the message says I can still sell if I contact you — but I couldn’t find any clear instructions on what steps I need to take or where to contact for help.

The message also urges me to reach out as soon as possible, but I was unable to find a direct link to do so. Could you please let me know why my account was restricted and how I can reinstate selling privileges?

Reactivate my eBay account

You may be prevented from listing an item, because you have not fully or correctly registered with eBay's Managed Payments.

You need to provide eBay with details of a bank account and have this account verified.  The usual method here, is for eBay to send 2 micro deposits into that nominated bank account for you to receive,  and confirm to eBay.

Once this is completed,  you will be able to list items for sale,  and receive payouts from those sales.

This will show you how to register for eBay's Managed Payments.

If there is an issue with the registration, it's not to us here you have to report,  we are members like yourself,  but to contact eBay Customer Services,  who have full access to your account,  and can see where the issue lies , and explain the steps you now need to take.

Contact them this way.

This is the easiest and quickest way to contact eBay Customer Services, for a Call Back option.

Lines open 8 a.m. - 10 p.m. on weekdays

9 a.m. - 6 p.m. on weekends.

Automated agents will be available on chat outside of the above hours.

I recommend contacting CS first thing in the morning as there's more chance of Dublin answering.

As advised, you would need to contact Ebay, this is a member to member forum and we can't look at your account.

What does the message from Ebay actually say?

They don't use the word 'deactivated' - have they said your account is 'permanently restricted' or have they asked you to take specific action to get your account up and running?

Reactivate my eBay account

Initially, I received a message saying, *"We're here to help you get back
to selling."*
This message was sent on Friday, and on Monday, I asked what actions I
needed to take.

In response, I was told, *"Your account has been suspended/restricted
because the pattern of activities we have witnessed present a risk to our
eBay community,"* and that the restriction is permanent.

I have no idea what the actual issue is.

A permanent restriction means you are effectively banned from having an Ebay account.

There is no way to appeal and Customer Services  will not discuss this with you.

Sometimes it is because an account holder you have links with is banned or you have previously held an account which was closed because of issues.

That is just speculation.

However, for you, it means you will not be able to sell on Ebay.
