A seller is not obliged to offer you a partial refund,  and eBay do not deal in them.

However,  if an item you received,  was broken,  then it is not as described.  It is the seller's full responsibility to ensure an item is securely packaged, that it reaches the buyer in good conidition.

So you can ask for a full refund,  by opening a case for item not as described in the Resolution Centre,  link at bottom of most pages.  Escalate after 8 days and you will be fully refunded.

Do not close the case early,  on any promise from the seller of a refund or replacement,  once closed it cannot be reopened.  Let it run the full 8 days,  and do not forget to escalate if it is not fully resolved.
