Damaged Item during transit by courier

Hi could you please advise on this issue;

I have recently sent an item to a buyer which must have been damaged during transit as I packed the item myself in orignal packaging as I recieved it. I know it was in great condition when i packed it. I am working in Libya and not home until 22nd December. I took out postal insurance and have offered to pay for the repair in advance because I cannot claim until I return to the Uk. I WILL NOT refund as this is not my fault and the exact reason you take out insurance.

any ideas how we may resolve the issue please?

Regards

Oliver

Hi Oliver, it's really simple, if the buyer opens a case and states the item is damaged/not as described, you have no choice, you need to provide a pre-paid return label via the resilution process and refund on return.  I realise this is going to be difficult as you're out of the Country but eBay will not consider that.
