RM48 Tracked QR Refused at PO

Same  problem as many others I gather. I went to my local Post Office who said they couldn't get the barcode to work. Went to the main PO who had the same problem and would not accept my parcel. Bearing in mind I am disabled and this item weighs nearly 10 kilos and is awkward to carry, I am tired of lugging it around. Please don't tell me to take it to a drop off centre or collect+ as they are around 5 miles away from me. Can I switch it to Evri, which is just around the corner? Otherwise do I just not post it until this is resolved? Will I get a strike against me for sending it late?

Re: RM48 Tracked QR Refused at PO

I believe as this issue now has not been resolved for a few days, sellers are using their own postage and services at Post Offices, manually adding tracking numbers, and for the unused Simple Delivery labels:

  • If you selected 'Buyer pays’ when you created the listing, your buyer will automatically be refunded for any Simple Delivery label that isn’t used after 30 days

  • If you selected ‘Seller pays’ and offered free postage on your listing, you'll need to fill out the Request a refund for Simple Delivery form for the label that wasn’t used. Make sure to send your request within 14 days of your item selling.

I did read that no late delivery marks will be attributed if items have been posted late, because of this tech issue affecting many.

Re: RM48 Tracked QR Refused at PO

Thanks. I figured out how to get around it, by paying 30p to have Royal Mail collect it. Taken this morning with no problems. It would appear that the handheld device used by posties can outsmart Post Office counters...

Remember next time,  eBay too offer this collection service through RM , and buying through eBay,  there's no 30p fee.
