Hi there just a question its not something thats affected me just yet though i had a return on a faulty item and spoke with ebay via phone
They told me when i asked them that if a item is damaged via delivery method that to get a refund you still need to return items and the refund comes from the seller
Is this correct as before it all kicked in i am sure i read loads of times on here that its ebay who actually refunds the buyer out of ebays pocket when items are delivered damaged so the seller keeps the payment the buyer paid and the buyer gets a refund and probably keeps said item.
Which is it as if its not ebay refunding in that instance then whats the point of simple delivery and buyer protection
I said this to the ebay staff on the phone and they said something like.....all the new system does is hold funds for 2 days from the seller after item is delivered.
Which i said to them but if thats the case then that means nothing for say....my return i just made as the seller would have their funds released while im trying to sort out and test the said item.
They just repeated what they told me.

Ebay will pay seller 2 days after tracking shows delivered.
Buyers have 30 days to open ebay case for not received or not as described.
Seller has to refund buyer.
In some cases ebay MAY refund buyer.

So basically exactly how it has always been then. So what exactly is simple delivery and buyer protection for lol
It was all before saying using simple delivery if a item is lost of damaged then the seller does not refund and its ebay who refunds using ebays money as thats what the whole point of it was.
If thats not the case i will just stop using so called simple delivery because theres litterally nothing more simple about it than doing it normal way
Not to mention does ebay not know part of postahe costs is to also cover EVERYTHING under posting as in envelopes and boxes and tape etc so can not even add extra to cover these costs
Beyond rediculous

If you allow ebay to refund buyers, you get a defect & ebay still recover money from you.
SD is here to stay, you can't opt out unless you upgrade to business seller.
If item lost or damaged, seller claims from carrier, now you claim from ebay.
