If the seller has agreed to combine postage, do not pay until the seller has sent you a revised invoice with the postal charge revised.
Just to mention the obvious, I trust you're aware that items purchased from the US may be liable to VAT, import duty and an admin payment in the UK? Not all buyers realise this; refusal to accept the charge on delivery disqualifies the buyer from buyer protection for the purchase.
