I purchased an item and I have just been informed that my item will not arrive until 9 July. 

The original advert said 16-19 June ..I am very disappointed as the item was part of a project I am doing at the moment. 

I  have told the seller is will be to late and asked for a refund before it was posted. 

Tried to contact Ebay to seek guidance by you have more chance of meeting the Pope.

All you can do is ask the seller to cancel and refund your money.   If they are business sellers they are supposed to accept "change of mind" cancellations but it's very hard to enforce.
