Product stopped working after 6months, seller no longer active!

I bought a dehumidifier end March 2024. Worked fine for 6 months and then stopped collecting water! It has power lights up but not making usual noise. Seller no longer active it says!

No paperwork sent with product so guess no warranty if seller gone?

Apologies first time on here as help topics don't cover info and seems no way to contact eBay directly. Thank you.

Sorry but ebay doesn't get involved with warranties at all, so even if you managed to contact the seller it is unlikely you'd get anywhere.

You couldn contact your payment provider and see if they can help.

Ebay give you a 30 day guarantee and after that it is between you and the seller.

After 7 months, it is unlikely they would be helpful and it seems they no longer sell on Ebay anyway.

So, there is not really any constructive advice to ofer here.  Sorry.

Thanks for replying.

Aren't all electrical items covered by at least a 12month guarantee as standard though? Believe I may of read that somewhere on Which news feed.

Thank you for replying. Not sure why you attached the following to your message; "There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn't true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.”

I was only asking for assistance. I purchased item in good faith and as with all electrical products expect to work for at least 12 months!

Sellers are supposed to offer a repair, replacement or refund.  However, after 6 months, you do have to provide evidence that the item has stopped working due to a fault that was present when you bought it and not from use/misuse/wear and tear.  That can be very tricky.  You always have to contact the seller.  After 30 days, Ebay do not get involved.  They didn't sell you anything and they have not got your money or the means to provide a replacement item.

You are in the same position as if you bought from an independent shop that has closed down.  You want to pursue your rights but where can you start?

The quote is not personal - lots of mentors have a quote or saying attached to every response - @*guinevere* has 'powered by cats'.
