Pre simple delivery combined postage and refund

I've sold two items today which were listed pre simple delivery and both had postage of £3.38.  I confirmed to the buyer (before she bought the items) that I would combine the postage and refund her the excess postage of £3.38.  She has completed the sale and paid the total (inc. postage).  I now need to refund her the postage on one of the items but I cannot see how to do it because when I looked at the "earnings" on the items, I only receive the price of the items and not the postage.  I'm confused what I need to do.  If push comes to shove, then I will pay her the postage from my earnings but I obviously need to work it out for future reference.

Pre simple delivery combined postage and refund

If it's not scanned then it's not used and if you had it set to buyer pays eBay will refund them the postage, no need for you to do this, but you can send the buyer a message to explain it can take 30 days to reach them.

If you combine postage, as described by John you will only have one postage that is tracked showing dispatched,  there is no way to mark the others dispatched,  and for those,  you may need to wait a minimum of 14 days for that payout.

Many sellers very frustrated that combining postage under Simple Delivery is Still not possible.

Some sellers are leaving a message on their listing,  for example.....   ' If you wish to buy multiple items,  please let me know before buying,  I will relist them as one listing so only one postage cost is charged, combining postage is not currently possible. '

Pre simple delivery combined postage and refund

If you set for buyer to BUY postage, then they will have two labels, but if you are willing to combine into one package then you take the risk of only being able to PROVE delivery of one item, and the cost of unused label will eventually be refunded to buyer.

It is up to buyer to send you the QR codes, but just use one. As it would appear buyer has paid for the postage any refund of postage will be to buyer.

Pre simple delivery combined postage and refund

I thought I'd cracked this but I cannot seem to mark the two additional items as "dispatched" so how long would it take for eBay to refund the buyer for the postage that I haven't used?  I thought that I would be able to mark two of the items as dispatched and then add the tracking number that I have used for the 3rd item.  I don't want the buyer to think that I am trying to dodge a refund. I've already parcelled up the three items and attached a postage label.  If push comes to shove, I'll have to pay the refund myself as I confirmed to her that I would combine postage. I cannot see how eBay will know that I am not using two of the postage labels.
