I have been selling for 20+ years and I always use Royal Mail, print my own postage and post at the post box next to my house.

I am housebound and cant get to a Post Office or Evri drop off point.

Today I went to wrap an item and it is saying I have to use Evri then drop it off. I have no way of doing that.

Can I just ignore what ebay say and just send as I usually do via Royal Mail post box?

Why are ebay dictating how sellers can send items, so offputting. Bad enough waiting days for payment.

I cant even access the customer's address, it has automatically created an Evri label. Im supposed to drop it off at a shop 1/2 a mile away but I have no way of getting there due to long term illness. Should I just refund the customer?

I have just printed a Royal Mail label, it means I will lose out by paying for postage twice but I cant see what else I can do.

This is ebay's new Simple Delivery, which is now compulsory for private sellers. More info here:

You are supposed to use the labels supplied by ebay but you can opt out of using Evri here:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/ship/prf

If you cannot get to a post office you can arrange for a Royal Mail collection ( from the RM website) for a nominal fee after you've got the label.

You can send with Royal Mail as normal as you have Simple Delivery on your listings with free postage meaning you would be charged for the Evri label.

If you send as you normally would using RM because the Evri label wasn't used you would be refunded the charge though this may take up to 30 days to receive.
