Posting to a third party

A buyer wants me to send the item to a third party and not include anything to do with eBay ( invoices postage labels etc ).

I'm not happy doing this as it could get complicated if the item is lost or damaged in transit.

Surely the buyer should check the item personally and then send to his customer!

Will it be covered by buyer protection?

Posting to a third party

If they send a third party,  that is,  their own courier or other means then no,  the buyer will not be covered by eBay's 30 day MBG policy.

However,  not sure what they are inferring to invoices / postage labels being sent elsewhere, inform them the whole payment process has to be done through eBay , and eBay checkout.  If they start giving different addresses for any aspect of the sale,  then inform them you will have to cancel the order.

Cancel it citing Problem with Buyer' address, this then will not affect your seller performance,  I would block them too from returning.

You must only send items to the address provided by eBay. If you send it to any other address you will have no seller protection. Even if it was tracked as deliveredthe buyer could still claim a full refund because it was not delivered to the address provided by eBay.

If a buyer wants an item to be delivered to a different address they can provide this when payng through eBay checkout. That way, their preferred address will be provided by eBay as the address for delivery. The buyer can't dictate what postage labels are attached.
