Why as a seller are postage costs dedeucted when the buyer has paid for postage ? TIA

There is a difference, one way or other buyer always pays for postage.
If buyer BUYS the postage you get the label, and only receive the sale price.
If buyer PAYS to you the sale price plus postage, then from what you receive you BUY the postage.
