Postage

I sold an item yesterday.

Initially couldn’t find any postal address for the buyer as the sales information said the item was sold under, something like simple postage.  As I had no idea what that was I printed off an invoice to see the buyers address.

I posted said item through my usual courier service and obtained tracking information.
However I now have the issue that eBay will not allow me to make the item as dispatched, or to submit the tracking information, to notify the buyer.

I have messaged the buyer tracking details but have concerns that my sellers rating could be impacted if it shows a late dispatch on their system.

I did not use any pre paid postage labels and yet look to have been charged.

What is going on with eBay ?

Any help is welcome

Re: Postage

If you open the pre paid label that will mark the item as dispatched.   It will remain unused.

If you had cost of postage on the listing that means buyer paid for it and it will be refunded to them in 30 days.

Private sellers now have to use Ebay's Simple Delivery for most items.

The correct address is on the label that Ebay provide.  You access the label through 'orders' and 'get label'.

That is the address you have to use.  The buyer may well have chosen a different address at checkout to the one shown on the invoice and you will have no seller protection if you send an item to the wrong address.

As you offer 'free postage/seller pays' Ebay will automatically charge you for the label. You can claim the money back within 14 days.

It's important you understand how Simple Delivery works.  It does have benefits for sellers.  Set aside 30 minutes to have a read.

Read the details, follow the links and read the FAQs.

Re: Postage

Hi.
Thanks for the reply.
I cannot access the pre paid label as the only option that shows is to book a collection via DHL.

I spent an hour last night trying to work out a way to mark as dispatched. Unfortunately it seems that you cannot speak to an eBay support person either, just a bot that doesn’t comprehend!

Thanks again

Re: Postage

That option doesn’t work.
I called eBay customer services.

Thanks
