Postage discrepancy

I've sold an item for 99p, the postage should be £1.55 - 2nd class large letter.

The label to print will cost £2.59 via Yodel. So I'll actually be losing money if I send it.

How on earth does this work?

Pattern won't go by normal post.

If using RM, it will be at least large letter (max 25mm).

Or as you found, more by yodel.

Don't buy a label through Ebay.

Take your item to the Post Office and buy a LL stamp for £1.55p.

You have only charged the buyer 87p so no doubt will be out of pocket.
