Postage Refund as a seller - Item being hand delivered

After selling an item the delivery address is near where I live. The item is delicate so I am going to hand deliver instead.

As a seller how do I refund the postage costs?

Thanks

Have they aready paid?  Then,  the easiest way would just to hand over the cash on delivery,  as you cannot then change the invoice.

You could send a partial refund no benefit doing it this way as full seller fees have already been paid.

If they haven't paid you can send a revised invoice with a zero postage cost.  Come back and I can explain how to do this if they haven't paid.

To finalise the transaction you mark the item as paid and dispatched.  Dispatched is eBay's wording for a collected item.

Exactly the same way as any refund, drop down menu, find refund and enter smount to be refunded, you will benefit from a partial refund of selling fee.

Beware however you will have no proof of delivery, so get buyer to sign a copy of the order details, otherwise a dishonest buyer could get a full refund.
