Please help buyer has paid £8.12 VAT on a £39.99 item

Hi, ive just had a buyer purchase and item from me for £39.99 but has been charged £8.12 VAT both are in the UK

FYI ---  Even if the item is located within the UK;  if either the UK located Buyer/Seller is using/or has an account that was originally registered outside the UK ,  then an additional 20% Import VAT and any other duty is charged.
