Two key points:
Ebay no longer allow cash on collection. Payments have to be made through Ebay.
If a buyer should pay cash on collection, they are not covered by the Ebay Money Back Guarantee.

Cash on collection is no longer allowed.
Buyer pays for item through ebay checkout, seller can then provide contact information.
When buyer collects item they supply code, seller enters this and gets the money.

That is not allowed anymore.
For all collection items the buyer pays by various card payments / PayPal at checkout.
They then receive a 6 digit QR code. Do not release the item without this code, it's your only proof the item was collected. You either scan it or manually enter the numbers on the left of .... Confirm Collection in the order details for the item.

Hi thank you so much for your reply. I’m surprised that the seller was even able to post “cash on collection” if eBay no longer allow this method.

They perhaps do not know the rules , it is a recent one.
However, the option will not be there at eBay checkout for the buyer, and they will then not be able to proceed without paying, only after payment can the seller can exchange their contact details for collection.
No payment = no address can be given to the buyer.

adding to the advice already given -
an exception is for vehicles, a seller can accept cash, bank transfer etc.
There's no protection for vehicles on eBay for vehicles.
