Payment on hold as item showing not delivered but Royal Mail have attempted delivery

Sold some shoes, sent via Royal Mail 48 Tracked.  Royal Mail attempted delivery on 5th March but unable to deliver as nobody home.  Buyer has not arranged redelivery or collection since then and because item is shown as not delivered I have not been paid.  Will I now need to wait the 14 days for payment or will I get paid if I contact Ebay and state that delivery has been attempted?  Thanks

For buyer (and seller) protection purposes, eBay treats even attempted delivery as having been successfully delivered.

Whether they will do the same as evidence of delivery for payment release only eBay knows. Their new buyer protection fee has created so many problems and complaints that I doubt if even eBay customer support has all the answers.

Personally I would wait it out for the 14 days. The good news is that if the buyer opens a money back guarantee case for non-delivery you should win if the tracking states that delivery was attempted. But even then eBay may drag it out to allow further time for the item to be received. eBay is in a muddle of their own making.

I guess I'll have to hang on for the 14 days unless the buyer does collect/get redelivered and the tracking updates.  Honestly, this is so annoying, I wish we could just go back to the old system of buyer pays, seller sends!  Everything is getting too complicated now.  I am gradually moving my listings over to Vinted.....
