Overseas purchase shipping to Uk address

Hello,

I recently sold an item that was available using the simple delivery method for what I believe to be UK only. I didn’t offer to ship outwith.

The buyer is located in Japan and is providing a UK Business address that having searched seems to have negative reviews associated with it.

I’ve reached out to the buyer asking who will be receiving/signing for the purchase.

Im concerned the transaction won’t go smoothly and really don’t want embroiled in dispute.

can I reject the sale? Or is this a common occurrence?

any advice appreciated thanks everyone

I wouldn't take notice of the negative reviews if this is a third party freight forwarder appearing in the delivery address, for some reason many people can't work out how they work. All you have to do is to get the item to them, and your Simple Delivery label covers you against loss or damage.

After that, the buyer is no longer covered by eBay's Money Back Guarantee/Buyer Protection, so if anything you're more covered than if you were sending direct to a UK buyer.

When you say  '  the buyer is providing a UK address '  how are they providing this?

Are they changing the address eBay sent you on the delivery order?  Then, cancel the order,  citing problem with buyer's address.

If it is the address eBay have provided on the delivery order,  then this is all above board.

Many overseas buyers use a forwarding company in the UK.  Your responsibility ends with the item reaching this UK destination,  and no further.

While once delivered to forwarding agent, that covers you for delivery, but so long as within the 30 days allowed, the buyer can still open a not as described case, problem with that would also be arranging return.

Thank you - it’s a Uk address provided by eBay, I think it might be a forwarding freight company but as you state I’m delivering as per address provisioned through the sale.
