Order Issues

I initially placed an order for a product on 9 March 2026, then later that day, requested a cancellation due to it not being able to arrive on time. In the cancellation email i was told I would receive a response by 13 March 2026.

About a few minutes after this, I received a message from the seller through eBay basically saying "thanks for your order, and that we will upload the tracking number as soon as the package is posted". I click reply on the email so that I could see the message in more detail and respond; however, when I click 'reply' or 'reply with offer', it redirects me to eBay and to a page that says "Something went wrong. Could not load conversation. Please try again later".

On 12 March 2026, I received an email saying the seller denied my cancellation request and that I would receive the product by 29 April 2026.

I opened the email, clicked view details, and was redirected to a page that says " Something went wrong, please try again." I have not since been able to find this order anywhere; however, I have the bank transaction and emails to prove the order was made.

What can I do through eBay at this point? And should I just depute it through my bank?

(Any other advice is welcome.)

ebay will say you have to wait until the estimated delivery has passed before you can open a "not received" case to get a refund.   Or when it arrives, if it's a business seller you can return it at your own expense.   You could try your bank before then if you prefer.

As you say item is due to be delivered 29 April, I am guessing it was a non UK seller.

If item arrives, you can check listing to see if seller accepts change of mind returns,

if so you can do this, you pay return tracked postage, which if international will be expensive.

I'm sorry, but I don't don't understand why buyers want to cancel just after buying an item,

you are not the only person to ask this question.

Thank you, I wasn't planning on cancelling right after ordering it. I did need the product, and I didn't realise at first, but it just would not arrive in time for the occasion, so I purchased it from a uk based seller.

Best never to buy from overseas sellers, long delivery dates and if item needs to be returned cab prove far too expensive.

You say you cannot find this order,  somewhere on your summary page as a buyer you need to look for Purchases.
