Non collection by DHL

Forces to use "simple delivery" for the first time, utter shambles.

Sold item Thursday 25th (single golf club).

 

Firstly, it looked as though it was going through Royal Mail, only for the delivery to switch to DHL when I went to book. Then, despite me trying to book the Friday, the DHL system would only book Monday 29th. Gave a generic 08:00 to 20:00 pick up time. Not a great start. 

 

I organised to WFH that day, and eventually received a message at 11:27 on the Monday that it would be picked up between 18:22 and 19:22. Needless to say this didn't happen. 

 

Called the automated DHL line and it gave me a message that the driver was unable to collect, and it would be collected next day, 30th. So again, organised to WFH and, again, no pick up. 

 

DHL have "item not ready" on their portal which is utter nonsense. 

 

I felt as though I had no option but to refusnd the buyer, and have not paid considerably more in returns that ai got for the sale. 

 

Under the old system, I would have walked down to my local shop Friday morning and the guy would have had his item Sat morning. 

 

This simple delivery system sucks. If eBay can't get this right, and refund me for the time and effort, there are plenty of other platforms that are more than happy to have my business.

Of course ebay ars not going to refund you for your 'time and effort'.

 

There are ongoing problems with DHL at the moment that may be connected with them now being an ebay Special Delivery courier, I.e they can't cope.

A fair point, but how do I get refunded for the non collection and the additional cost I had to pay back to the buyer?
