New buyer protection fee and making offers

How are people dealing with making offers?  A seller had 3 items that I wanted that were priced at £207.94, £38.16 and £19.34 in the listings I could see plus postage.  I messaged to ask if they would do a deal for all 3 and agreed £250 but when we then tried to do the deal through making offers it became clear that what she understood as a price and I understood were different because buyer protection got added onto the £250 and whenever we tried to sort it out, we were working from different costs/we would agree and then it would add on the buyer protection.

New buyer protection fee and making offers

A buyer offers what they want to pay so the seller gets less because the Buyer Protection Fee is taken off that amount.   If a seller makes the offer the BPF is added on so the buyer pays more.

If you offered £250 in total then that includes the BPF so the seller gets less, that's how it works now.

If three items are involved, then you would have to make 3 offers totalling £250. This would then in addition to the 4% mean 3 x 75p fees.

The amount you would pay would be £250, which would include the fees paid by you the buyer and seller would receive the net amount.
