So if I sell an item for £20 as ebay example. Who gets shafted me or the buyer? It says no hidden costs so where does this new fee show up? I use Royal Mail and have done for years. If I continue to use RM I don't get paid for 14 days? Its an invite for more items going missing if you ask me. I don't think I will be selling on ebay again after Feb 4th.

You list an item for £20. Buyer pays a buyer protection variable fee of 4% of £20 = 80p. Plus the flat fee of 75p. So the item price that buyer sees will be £21.55 + postage

As I understand it if you list an item at £20 it will appear to buyers/bidders as £21.55. If buyer buys they pay £21.55 and you get £20.
Until it happens I will not know for sure, but what concerns me is what buyers think of it and who they will blame, as for further bids every £1 would increase by £1.04.
This is ebay’s mess just hope buyers see that it is nothing to do with seller.
So long as I can continue with my own way of posting, I rarely get or need proof of delivery, there should be no increase in items not received.
Ebay holding on to funds, is as far as I am concerned no problem, but it is punishing the many for the sins of the few bad sellers.

Thanks John, you explained it better than ebay. Still not happy they've made a complete mess of it, shipping included.
