New Buyers Fees For Private Seller Items & Payment For Sellers 4th February

Contacted Ebay regarding clarification on new private sellers fees for buyers.

As a seller in future will have to wait for funds, two days after confirmation of delivery.

This obviously cuts out sending low cost items by standard postage and with postage stamps etc.

If confirmation of delivery cannot be obtained, will have to contact Ebay for payment.

I was told at the moment, that there is no minimum time limit before that payment

I've told Ebay that as a seller, it is no longer worth the hassle selling on Ebay unless they change this

policy.

Also as a buyer in future i will only use Business sellers.

If you were told by CS that with no tracking you need to call them,  then that information is wrong.  Well,  to clarify it's wrong,  that is,  when Simple Delivery becomes mandatory soon.

Then,  tracking showing delivery will release payouts after 2 days.  No tracking,  or tracking failing to show delivery,  payouts for those,  are released after 14 days.

Contacting Customer Services for an earlier release will be to no avail.

OK.

What you have written above is incorrect.

Get the written information direct from Ebay by clicking on 'learn more' from the link below and then looking at the FAQs and exploring the links.

You are not obliged to use a tracked service.  That will be entirely your choice.

If you do not use tracking, you will not have to contact Ebay for payment, you will have to wait 14 days.

'For untracked deliveries, or tracked deliveries when there is no delivery confirmation, funds will become available 14 calendar days from the order date' is what it states but I do suggest you spend 5 minutes reading it yourself.

If you only buy from business sellers, whose prices tend to be higher because they have to pay listing fees and Final Value Fees, you will miss out on the low cost secondhand items and the unique items that private sellers list.

Changes to when you get paid

Starting on 4 Feb, funds will typically be available in your eBay balance 2 days after delivery.

The agent i spoke to by phone, never mentioned the 14 days to receive funds if no delivery confirmation.
Said i would have to apply to them to receive funds.
Having to wait 14 days is just ridiculous in my opinion, when i'm trying to make postage costs to the buyer as low as possible.
Don't agree with your synopsis about buying from private sellers in the future than from business sellers.

Ebay agents are often ill informed about ebay matters.

Published policies are a more reliable source.
