My 'Buy it now' item sold for less than the list price. It was up for £12 but sold for £10

As stated, I got a notification that my item sold for £10. 

Offers were open on the buy it now, but the buyer managed to buy it for £10 when it was listed at £12 plus postage (£2.97) 

I checked the listing and it was listed at £12, so where has the £2 gone?

It was promoted but the fees stated say £1.49?

Does anyone know what this could be? It's only 2 pound but that's 16%. If this happens on a high value item, that's alot of money I could lose.

It's listed at £12 or Best Offer.   You may have enabled automatic acceptance of an offer without realising it during the listing process.

I checked that last night and it was just 'offers open'

I had no notifications of offers or anything, it just 'sold' asif someone had paid full price on a buy it now. 

The details of the transaction sometimes show the lsied price as £12. Sometimes it says £10. I didn't change the price at any point? It's worrying if this can happen
