Musty smell on a 'new' dress that is dry clean only.

I purchased a dress described as brand new. It is dry clean only. However it smells very strongly of must. The seller has refused a return and won't contribute to the dry cleaning cost. Any suggestions please?

Open an eBay return, select the 'doesn't match the description or photos' as the reason for the return and state that it smells musty in the message box.

Your seller can't refuse a not as described return.

Open a return and say the item is not as described.  A brand new item should not have a musty smell.

The seller will have to accept the return - they may decide that offering you a partial refund would be a better idea.

Thank you. I have given the seller a choice- cover the dry cleaning cost or I will start the return process.

Don't give your seller too much time,  and time yourself out from opening a case for item not as described for a full refund.  There are 30 days from the item's last estimated date for delivery.

Was the dress packed in one of those black lined plastic envelopes!  Some give off a horrid smell akin to a smoky smell which can ' attach' itself to clothing.  This is not an excuse but maybe an answer to the ' smell',  you are still entitled to a full refund.
